We are delighted to announce that we have appointed long-time friend of the agency, James McGowan, as Head of Client Innovation & Partnerships.
James joins the Strategy and Commercial division and will report directly to Stephen Jenkins, Founder & MD.
The appointment marks a pivotal moment for Too Many Dreams as we enter a new chapter of expansion, following nearly a decade of consistent success supporting venture-backed and high-growth technology brands.
B2B tech industries, particularly adtech and martech, have never been more competitive, complex and characterised by innovative solutions that are difficult to unpack. The addition of AI to every company’s proposition – as recently quantified by McKinsey – has only made this worse. The smartest founders are realising that to command attention and drive consideration amongst this sea-of-sameness, they need senior specialists with first-hand experience creating positioning and marketing strategies that drive impact and value.
James brings more than 15 years of experience across media, events, commercial strategy, growth leadership and partner development. He has previously held senior leadership roles at The Drum, Masterclassing/Mobile Marketing Magazine and Bluestripe/NDA. During that time, he founded The Programmatic Lunch and created The Trinity Lunch, which both became mainstays of the industry calendar.
Stephen Jenkins, Founder & MD at Too Many Dreams, said: “Too Many Dreams has never been about our desires, but those of the founders we serve. We don’t want the loudest voice, but the most adept ear. We lead with empathy and do work that matters alongside experts who care deeply about their craft and our clients’ success. The creative flair and exceptional commercial acumen James now brings to the business make him a powerful partner for any ambitious brands looking to grow. I’m excited to see the positive impact he will have for our clients and our agency as we enter this next phase of growth.”
James added: “Stephen and I have talked for years about finding the right moment to work together — and 2025 finally delivered. I’m excited to bring my experience across media, commercial strategy and creative partnerships to clients who are driving meaningful progress in B2B tech. Too Many Dreams has always punched well above its weight, and there’s so much more we can build. I’m also delighted to finally work alongside someone as geeky about music as I am.”
In his new role, James will focus on developing new creative opportunities that will help the clients the agency serves to grow with clarity and speed. He will also play a key role in expanding Too Many Dreams’ own footprint, shaping the next phase of its growth, and enabling the team to help more tech brands reach their full potential.
